I have 5 sprouts (knocks on wood/fingers crossed). I’ve been babying them.
That’s good. I germinated some seeds a few years ago and did not get many to sprout. IIRC, I started with 10 seeds and got three plants up and going, but it was late in the season and did not survive the winter. These 2 mature plants did not take the cold very well, I was surprised to see them leaf out so well after losing all their leaves. Next winter, they are coming into the house, rather than the unheated garage.
I hope every body in Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri was okay through the bad weather forecast for this afternoon-—Storms, winds, large hail, tornadoes.
Also, I hope Moms had a happy mothers day everywhere.
The weekend was a success.
Transplanted 40 tomato plants and 40 pepper plants into the garden on Saturday. Also got some cucumber seed planted.
Then Saturday night it rained and hailed and the wind blew a lot. No damage at my place but the pond sure did take on a lot of water. I plugged the pump in early yesterday morning and let it run all night. That dropped the water level ~18”. With more rain in the forecast for tonight it’s liable to take a week to pump it out so I can get back to digging.
Spent most of the day yesterday working on the new deck. I got almost done laying the floor planks but I ran out of straight boards so I worked a bit on the railing. I guess it’s time to toss all of the warped stuff on the trailer and make a trip to Lowe’s.
The pond is really turning into an extended project due to the rain.
Good that you got the tomato, peppers and cukes planted. sounds like a nice garden.
Some days it doesn’t pay to get up. Took the rain gauge back to Lowes, no problem about refund, except they didn’t have one single rain gauge in that store - they were OUT. So, I’ve got the one that can fall over out there again. I’ll look on their website and see if I can order the type I got and have it sent to the store to avoid shipping. When I pick it up, I’ll check that tube right then at the bottom to make sure the new one doesn’t have a crack.

Just went to weather channel to check on you. You have massive amount of lightning, so many symbols it looks solid lightning. Don’t go outside. They say the system is moving rapidly so hopefully there won’t be lots of flooding. Hail is happening in some areas.
I should get a Conroe report in three minutes. It has been very cloudy here but now sun is shining.
30 tornadoes and 133 hailstorms with 13 being serious yesterday. It’s that time of the year now.

On these hail size reports, 100=1” 200=2” etc.
Weather channel says 90% change of rain today/tonight and I think it said tomorrow.
Saw my radar and there is nothing out there right now.
rightly, can you look at your wearther/radar bands to see Johnny and us? By us, I mean can you see by the radar the system moving toward us?
It's pretty sporty out there right now. I did have to run out to the street to meet the postman, and got soaked to the skin in 30 seconds.
Fortunately, I'm mostly waterproof. ;)

Saw Conroe weather again - it is 90% chance rain today/tonight and it’s 100% rain tomorrow - I missed the 100% the first time I saw that as it went by fast.
From weather channel: You had at least 1,000 lightning strikes in that area. It looks like the red/yellow has passed over you and you are in green rain.
Weather channel says we will get from one to two inches of rain tomorrow.

Any rain in your neck of the woods yet?
The stormline is becoming pretty well defined as it rolls eastward.
