Not a minute before that is anything the church says on the topic legitimate or non-hypocritical. The vatican is one of the biggest hoarders of wealth on the planet.
It isn’t that the Vatican has wealth, or the magnitude of their wealth. It’s that we should collectively decide how to distribute that wealth. I nominate the UN to decide this. I propose a 100% tax on Vatican wealth and let the representatives decide on how it should be equitably be distributed.
Step one would be for the Vatican bank to open its books to UN representatives.
