Missing radio icon Casey Kasem appears to have been found.

The New York Daily News reported early Thursday that California law enforcement officials had located the longtime "American Top 40" host somewhere in Washington state.

"He's already been found," Sgt. Mario Toti of the Santa Monica Police Department told the Daily News

Kasem's daughter, Kerri, told the Daily News she had not been informed of her father's whereabouts when contacted by a reporter.

As you may know or suspect, it seems that many Freepers reference movies as their alternate—or perhaps it’s their main—understanding of life. I see so many quotes or songs from movies used to substantiate a point. Sad, isn’t it?

As in most cases of this type, all you have to do is follow the money. At one time, Kasey was worth an estimated $80 million; his will calls for the estate to be split between his current wife and the three children from his first marriage.

The second Ms. Kasem apparently has no desire to share the proceeds with her step-children. She has been liquidating elements of the estate and there has been no accounting of where the money is going. Given her husband’s condition, the current Mrs. Kasem could easily claim the money is needed for his medical bills and related expenses. I’m also guessing that his current “residency” on an Indian reservation makes it even more difficult for the courts to enforce decisions regarding his care, given the semi-autonomous status enjoyed by tribal governments.

This is setting the stage for one hell of a probate battle. But it looks like Jean Kasem has been preparing for this scenario for several years, and his older children may never get an accurate listing of the estate’s value/assets, much less an actual share of his fortune. Jean clearly doesn’t care how she looks; there’s too much money at stake and with her career in the toilet, Casey’s estate will keep her in a luxurious lifestyle for the remainder of her days.

I only remember Casey Kasem when he was bashing Israel and saying Muslims were all `victims’ of U.S. foreign policy.

82? Hoodathunkit?

Yeah. But we are old.

(Btw, don’t know who Frank Caliendo is.)

I remember when I learned Kasey Casem was Shaggy. My cousin said something like, it’s hard to like Scooby-Doo anymore knowing Kasey Kasem does most of the voices.

We knew him from AT40, of course.

But that was a long time ago.

My daughter is 19 and my son 11, and nieces and nephews range from 7 - 27. They all know Shaggy.

My kids have seen every iteration if Scooby Doo, most with Kasem.

But they never heard of AT40, much less ever even listened to the radio.

Shaggy is immortal. AT40 is nostalgic kitsch.

Tapes from the 70’s are played on Sunday nights on oldie stations.

And he would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.

Washington State is a death state, an “assisted suicide” state. Not a good place to be when you are sick.

2 months before Hubby’s dad passed hubby’s sister moved him from his assisted care facility.....and didn’t tell anyone where he was. We found out he passed by the obit in the newspaper which she had published the day of the funeral. You can’t get much lower than that.
