He really overdid it. First the embarrassment on ESPN, which you can’t tell me didn’t hurt the Rams’ various sales, then the corporate contracts, then the line of his gear, all for a seventh rounder who may not even make the team.
I remember one afternoon in the early 2000’s, the Atlanta Braves had gay day at the park. They hyped it like crazy, and thought it would be roundly accepted. They got torched. The announcers stopped talking about it a week beforehand, and when it came, the cameras were very careful. I don’t think they did it again.
