Inside the 9/11 museum’s offensive gift shop

By Susan Edelman

The museum at Ground Zero tells the dark story of the 9/11 terror attacks with spectacular artifacts and exhibits. It pays heart-wrenching tribute to the innocents and heroes killed that day. It also has a gift shop. The 9/11 museum’s cavernous boutique offers a vast array of souvenir goods. For example: FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority Police T-shirts ($22) and caps ($19.95); earrings molded from leaves and blossoms of downtown trees ($20 to $68); cop and firefighter charms by Pandora and other jewelers ($65); “United We Stand” blankets.

My parents went to New York, and all I got was this grinning Muslim lunatic for a president.

I am with you, but they charge for the Arizona Memorial too and they sell tacky items in their gift shops as well. It is all Capitalism which I support.

I'm not that worked up over this gift shop, I certainly understand the victims families having an issue...

I do think it could have been toned down a bit and a more sensitive approach to the merchandise...

After all, people want to have a memento when they visit such a place...

How about designer Blue Dresses by Bill Clinton? After all, Bill was getting b******s under the desk instead of worrying about Islamic terrorism.

Yeah $24 bucks. It would be interesting to know just where exactly all that money is going. To support the museum or so Democrats can use it to bribe voters again?

After reading the article I understand the distaste that some people have over this. The gift shop is over the area where 8000 unidentified bodies rest. The mother of one of those unidentified bodies makes a point to say that the gift shop is just another way to bloat the already expensive staffing. She doesn’t appreciate this happening over a tomb of the unknown.

LOL! Holy smoke, I use to have one of those in the 1960s. You punch him in the nose and it squeaks. Today it would be banned for inciting violence in children.
