Apparently the Democrats thought it would be very difficult for white Democrat voters to get behind a black Democrat candidate.
Rev. Manuel Sykes was the only official Democratic candidate in the 13 Congressional district in Florida when he received a bullying call from the Pinellas County Democratic chairman telling him to get out of the race in favor of another candidate, a white candidate, Ed Jany. Jany has since dropped out of the race under a cloud of having exaggerated some of his background.
The Chairman made it very clear to Sykes that Democrats thought he stood less of a chance because he was running in an overwhelmingly “white district”. So not only were they being offensive to him, but they were making an offensive judgment about the district in general.

Manuel Sykes...you are a Dem because of why? Open your mind and look at freedom and don’t stay on the plantation.
Nice that Jolly will get a full term in that seat so that the voters can get to know him. Nice to also know that the seat will likely remain Republican for a long time, if Jolly does reasonably well. All around good news there, and I could care less about this clown.
Manuel has passed his first step to becoming a conservative. Those who convert from demodummie to conservative must experience their first mugging and looks like he has achieved the first step.
