Chicagos lakefront museum campus is the recommended spot to house a project with blockbuster box office potential: an interactive museum spearheaded by movie mogul George Lucas to house his formidable collection of artwork and film-making memorabilia.
While a mayoral taskforce has suggested the site, Lucas the Star Wars mastermind has not made a final decision about whether Chicago will be home to the museum. Lucas hometown of San Francisco remains in the running even after a federal panel rejected the picturesque Presidio site that was the filmakers top choice.

It will be located at the intersection of “Terrible Acting Drive” and “Prequels ruined Star Wars Way”
George Donated two small lots in “downtown” San Anselmo -[ Marin County] California for a town center park which is privately funded I might add.
Given that Star Wars began here I would have to think that this area would be a bit higher on his list of museum locations.
Ten men shot across Chicago Tuesday

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
At least 10 men were wounded in nine separate shootings across Chicago Tuesday.
Most recently, a man in his 20s was shot in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side.
Emanuel defends Star Wars museum site
Evidently the Chicago concept is to have this museum in close proximity to several other museums. That makes sense.
“As to whether Lucas’ museum belongs in Chicago’s museum campus area nearby institutions like the Adler, the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium, the mayor said the interactive computer displays Lucas plans to include at his museum will get kids excited about learning.”
