Just had a friend report an earthquake in Cumberland, VA.
Any FReepers feel it, too?
*snicker*
MY BAD!!! I was walking across the balcony in our home just prior to your posting this and my wife said loudly downstairs, “What was that?”
As I was walking, I thought it was my bare feet hitting the balcony - she heard and felt it - I didn’t!
Now family is telling me all about it.
Nothing like the 5.1 years ago - a loud “boom” like a plane crashed, then serious shaking for 15 - 20 seconds - I thought the log home I built and live in was coming down on me!
Mooch settling into her easy chair is all.
Luckily I haven’t felt any of those since Im in Southern California and those are more Northern. People here always make fun of small quakes and say “Oh if its not a 5 Im not getting out of bed” for me any quake is scary no matter the size because you just don’t know if its a for shock to something bigger
When you really want to know you ought to go to the USGS web site that has a map of all quakes. The get it faster than FR does
Just the tornadoes would scare the hell out of me. Here in southeast PA, overall we don’t get a lot of the severe weather problems that I read about and watch on the TV.
Well, I knew if I just posted the thread someone would do that. :-)
Hi!
What’s shakin’, mama?
;D
First thing crossed my mind, fracking in Virginia? Then I recalled that the CIA is located in Virginia, coincidence? I think not!
I believe they refer to that in DC as Bush’s Fault.
Well except for the fires....but yeah the earth moving under our feet thankfully has been quiet.
Nothing in Alexandria. Ironic, the Washington Monument just re-opened last week after @ 2.5 years since the last VA quake.
They are really not enjoyable until the 5M-6M range. We get so many here that they are not even reported. I do love a good rumbling quake that lasts a few minutes and comes bubbling up from a low growl and shaking to jolt the house.
Hey, woman
At least last night’s tremor was tiny compared to the one a few years ago. My sister-in-law thought it was Jesus coming back, LOL!
