CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston County deputies say eight students have been arrested after they were caught on surveillance video throwing rocks and food at passing cars while on their school bus.

According to an incident report, Durham Bus Services notified Septima Clark Academy that several students on bus 529 threw items at a passing vehicles on May 8, causing damage to a truck. Officers arrived on the scene to find a dent on victim's passenger side roof/window area and "food splashed across the grill, hood, and windshield."

Deputies say none of the students on the bus admitted to throwing things at the truck.

Officers say surveillance footage from two of the bus' three security cameras revealed which students were involved in the incident.

The report states 17-year-old Kayla Gilliard was spotted getting on the bus with a "pizza box full of rocks," while a 16-year-old female student brought a "bag of food items." Multiple students on the bus then reportedly began to yell profanities at their 78-year-old bus driver as he tried to give them instructions.

Wont help you if your are on the receiving end of.

I saw dumb kids doing stuff like this when I was in school. It just didn’t make front page news. I remember a kid in Virginia throwing a pudding cup. I also remember a girl flashing me while driving behind a bus full of high school dancers in Texas. I believe it was Klein Oak strutters. I was 17 at the time and it was awesome. Thanks to twenty four hour news, everything is a headline.

When I rode the bus our bus driver (I can still see him to this day) would have never allowed this to happen. He had a pleasant personality but if you did something wrong he’d pound on the top of the bus and we sit up strait like we was in military school. Kids do something like this with that driver? Not in a million years!

My tiny little spitfire bus driver had a lead pipe propped next to her left leg and it was not a bluff.

We were very well behaved.

Not unusual if a student needs to repeat a grade or kindergarten.

One year a kid in a bus in front of me threw some things (hard) out the window and it hit my car. I ask the driver at his next stop to wait while I had the police come. My car was a Lexus I had for 3 days, I was PO'd but the damage was a tiny mark no bigger than if a pebble had hit it while driving. The bus driver and the officer were very angry about the kids actions and he stepped forward as soon as the officer stepped on the bus. The officer asked how he should proceed and I suggested that I needed no further action other than to give the child a good scare and be done with it. He laughed and said "No problem..." I thanked the bus driver for being attentive to my concerns and moved on.

I am fairly certain that the kid would have been suspended for a day or so given the history of the school they were going to.

Good lesson best learned young. Dumb move, because there are people who would have simply shot up the bus.
