Sir Paul McCartney has finally been discharged from hospital after nearly a week, the Mirror can reveal.
The Beatles legend was well enough to take a private jet from Tokyo and was en route home.
It is not known whether he is heading to either his London or Sussex property or his pad in New York's The Hamptons.
But a source confirmed he was excited about seeing the rest of his family and to continue his recuperation.

I didn’t even know he had enlisted, way to go Beatles, for God and country.
That was the first thing I thought of when I read the headline.
Well, not the headline, but the opening.
Sir Paul needs to be force fed a double cheeseburger by his doctors.
On the other hand, I was VERY impressed by Ringo Starr. He was jumping up and down, running around, and looked in great shape. Not bad for a 74 year old man.
I’m a life-long Beatles fan, but if I ever have the opportunity to meet Paul, I’m going to rip him for his asinine comment about Bush when he was receiving an award at the Obama White House. “after the last eight years, it’s great to have a president who knows what a library is.” Does the fool not know that Buch was married to a former librarian and that Bush as an MBa from Harvard. He’s likely seen the inside of a library far more than McCartney has.
I agree. I couldn’t believe how spry Ringo was. Paul was definitely not as active on stage as he used to be, but he still does pretty good for all the singing he does. He does fast song after fast song and doesn’t even take a drink of water. I can’t sing one song in church without having to stop and breathe. I’m only a few years younger than Sir Paul.
