How does it feel to be a graduate just now being told by the president the next 4-8 years of your service will be spent fighting and dying for America’s partners... Such as Al Qaeda.

“I worry this man-child will do something really, really, stupid to ‘prove’ he’s not weak. Something we may never recover from.”

Bet on it... Notice this morning that westerners (Americans) are being advised to leave Libya. Want to guess why? Maybe we are finally going to carry out a “hit” on those who were responsible for killing our ambassador... Prove he is not weak. Problem is he is telegraphing his plan and the bad guys are getting ready themselves. If he goes in with SF direct action they will be ready and will try to pull off another “Blackhawk Down” scenario. It he goes it with an air-strike/TLAM strike they will produce lots of collateral damage with HD photos of mangled kids and women. Its a lose/lose/lose for Obama... like watching a train wreck (or self-outing a Chief of Mission).

"This is INSANITY. Who but Assad can bring order and save the Christians in Syria? And where will any weapons we give to Syria’s friendlier rebels (huh?) end up?"

This will cause more chaos, get more Christians killed and send weapons to transnational terrorists who will use them in other countries, as well. Sounds like a triple win for Obama, especially good because he will use US funding to kill Christians.

Then he needs to hike up his big girl panties and go fight side by side with the “rebels”.

Try the liver, I hear its delicious.

“Just as in Iraq, the president had the opportunity to commit to a strategy and the resources required to stabilize Afghanistan during his policy review two years ago. Instead, he chose to side with his political advisers – a group of people many seasoned Washington policy hands describe as a bunch of petulant, inexperienced campaign staffers with big titles.

None of those advisers had any military planning experience, and they encouraged the president to barter over troop levels like they were buying rugs in an Arab bazaar. In the end, the administration came to a decision about what its Afghanistan goals were and then failed to adequately resource the plan for it to succeed. The president was so adamant about capping force levels after listening to these same advisers that he took the unprecedented step of typing out his order, which was subsequently published verbatim in Bob Woodward’s book, “Obama’s Wars.”

This is the same man that was said to have appointed Gen. Eric Shinseki as secretary of Veterans Affairs for telling the Bush administration more troops were needed for the occupation of Iraq.

Obama admires generals who tell their elected leaders what is required to get the job done — so long as that elected leader isn’t him.”

Interesting article Ernest.
"With CONECT, the B-52H could stay in active service until 2040, almost 90 years after it was first introduced, despite the (expected) long-overdue introduction of a new Long Range Strike Bomber in the 2020s."

It is a tribute to Boeing in being able to design and fabricate that airframe from it's early days, in such a way it has lasted so long with proper maintenance.
