Having a child out of wedlock might be the normal thing today; but its immoral and bad for children.

I would word it a bit differently.

"Doing things that beget children out of wedlock might might be the normal thing today; but it is not ideal for the children. Try to get married if the father is marriage material or if you are going to have him stick around anyway. If he is not, consider finding a married couple who can provide a loving mother-father environment for the child. If that is not going to happen, get the better members of you extended family involved, especially the men."

But I certainly wouldn't say it to the mother's face. She's still at least one up on those who abort.

Heard repeatedly during and after my fourth pregnancy with three daughters:
“Still trying for a boy?”
“What are you going to do if this is another girl?”
“You do know you don’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting a boy this time?”
And after the birth of the fourth daughter:
“Are you done this time?”
“Are you going to give up now?”
For the record, the fourth pregnancy wasn’t planned. However, looking back, I would practice “quiver full” family planning and allow God to choose. I’m pretty sure He did anyway.
