Do people really talk like that?
I suspect there's much truth and much fiction in the book.
I don’t think Jackie did, though I did not know her personally. I think she had a lot of class, and by most accounts was a good mother.
One biography I do believe was one of Ethel Kennedy which said that Jackie was careful not to let John Jr.and Caroline spend too much time at the home of Ethel’s children because they were so wild. As you will recall, one of them died of a heroin overdose and a Skakel cousin was actually in trouble for murdering neighbor Martha Moxley. The Skakels were spoiled rotten brats, too, apparently.
