In order to turn an automobile accident into a murder mystery, you have to write a work of fiction and that is what this will be, total fiction. Patton died in an automobile accident, period.
Post of the day. Well said.
That is the way I have always looked at it. Trying to kill someone by creating a situation where a collision occurs seems extremely inefficient, requiring a lot of setup and timing.
I always thought it was just an accident.
The circumstances during the last days of WWII aren’t exactly as described in high school history books. We do know Stalin manipulated FDR through his advisers. We also know things weren’t tied up neatly. Churchill and FDR weren’t in agreement on a post war Europe. Patton’s death was convenient and curious.
Actually, he died in the basement of a building that is now Campbell Barracks Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany.
Blowhard Bill will give us an elaborate murder theory, probably claiming the Russians had him killed, then at the end of the book he’ll say his “personal” opinion is Patton did in fact die in an car wreck. He did the exact same thing in the Kennedy book. Almost every Kennedy expert known to man thinks more than one man shot at him, and it was most probably a conspiracy. But instead of agreeing with the experts, blowhard sides the government and says Oswald acted along, nothing to see here, move along. And the Jesus book was a joke.
