I nominate Butthole Park in San Francisco!
I'm Ranger Truly Fabulous and I'll be your guide today....
In addition to picking up homosexual historic sites, I think the Park Service should have a homosexual tie-in at all NPS facilities. Some of them would be easy. Homosexuals have fought in all of our wars. Put the historians and genealogists to work to find out who those individuals were, and have exhibits such as “The Soldiers of Gay-tysburg,” “The Rainbow Flag Brigaydes of Shiloh”, “The Queens of Kings Mountain.” Since it has been established that Lincoln was a homosexual, all the Lincoln sites should have a strong, if not exclusively, homosexual theme, including 1/4 of Mount Rushmore and all of the Lincoln Memorial. What was the silly north-south thing in comparison to what is truly important about Old Abe? Really, friends, isn’t it high time that homosexuality had its own special shrine on the Capitol Mall?
Well, look at it this way:
a plaque on a wall of a restroom in a public park that is inscribed with some kind of historical tale of LGBT activity that made the site worthy of a place on the National Register of Historic Sites might well serve as a warning to parents to keep their children away.
I’m wondering if these would be examples of the historic sites:
1.the movie theater where Pee Wee Herman did his thing.
2.Rock Hudson’s home (outed movie star location)
3.Liberace home (famous musician site)
4.”Wide-stance stall” (famous airport site)
5. Barney Frank’s basement (famous Congressional gay pimp/prostitute location)
I’m sure we can think of more locations for this fine and badly needed Federal program.
