NHS bosses have been criticized after they spent £250,000 on a clock—which staff claim is impossible to read.

The complicated light sculpture clock hangs inside the new £430 million Southmead Hospital in Bristol, which opened this month.

£242,500 = $406,527 ATTOW. Wonder what would be spent on an Obamaclock in a US single-payer system.

She said the sculpture cost £242,500 – including installation costs – and the total arts budget for the new hospital was £1,148,500.

Look on the bright side. If the UK is anything like the US, a mandatory fraction of the building budget has to be spent on art. At least this is somewhat useful as opposed to the usual ugly ass public building modern art.

I wonder how many cancer patients could have been saved with £1.15 million?

A “clock” nobody can read is “useful” ???

But is IS much better than the usual public “art” requirements that are - as you point out - used to fund useless public art students at public universities getting useless public art degrees ....
