ADA rules forbid anyone challenging the serviceability of a so-called service animal. Sure, they serve a useful, important service for people who need them. But many others have learned that simply declaring their pet a service animal lets them do whatever they please. I’m still waiting for someone to show up with a service horse - it’s covered by the rules.

I am aware of that, but it frustrates me. I raised a guide dog pup once. A puppy RAISER, not a puppy trainer. and the rules were useful, but myriad. And strict. And I took our pup to the airport too (although we never got on a plane) But he was a professional on his way to being a useful service animal, not just some random pet that it felt good to pat.
