Here I thought that some drivers were slamming on the brakes as soon as the “Low Fuel” light turns on. Although I bet some do.
In my town they just put up small little warning signs at the cross walks. They have a small stop-sign image on them, and in small letters say “Stop for Pedestrians in Cross walk”
When they were just installed I was behind someone that slammed on their brakes when they saw the new sign in the middle of the block. Gave me a jolt - and then a laugh. But a REALLY stupid sign.

I guess this is a sign of current culture...In the land of endless oil, the people are too lazy to fill their tanks.

When you are driving at ninety miles per hour and your car stalls out; I can see where that might cause an accident.

It might be a cultural thing, allowing the tank to get too low.

I’ll never forget last year when my daughter was three, we were riding in my FIL’s car when he was forced to hit his brake and make a sudden stop... her little voice from the backseat was stern: You’re Fired!

They’re too stupid to stop and get gas??
To: nickcarraway
Of course, the fact that drivers in certain places and cultures drive like maniacs, has no influence whatsoever on the results...
Uh huh.

I once came so close to running out of fuel, before I got to a gas station that I actually managed to put in about 1.5 litres of fuel more than what the size of the tank was supposed to take.

Does a”Light”come on when it’s Camel-Feeding Time?Maybe that explains it??
To: F15Eagle
My gas tank doesn’t have that feature. When the nozzle clicks, it is done. :)

Your EVAP canister/hose is saturated?
Possible hazard if the tank if filled, car driven little or not at all, and then the temperature increases causing expansion of the fuel.

I’m sure I was risking some damage to my car by running so close to empty. I’m just happy nothing happened that day.
