The more important question is, do they have large talons?

I know owls have very large talons. You would have to wear heavy gloves to offer your arm as a perch, even to a friendly owl.

had a bantam rooster with nasty talons, sharp as a needle and grew quite fast. When I would spot him walking funny, it was time to catch him and cut back the talons....if I didn't he'd rip his legs open with his own talons...had a rabbit with a genetic problem, his 4 front teeth wouldn't quit growing even though he had lots to chew on. Didn't realize it until I looked at him one day and spotted his white teeth almost growing through the top and bottom of his mouth....Rabbits are nasty to catch and hold and at the same time, using nippers cut his teeth...they kick like hell and can do damage with their hind legs...
