A Houston mother with her two young children in a vehicle was fatally wounded after being involved in a car crash Wednesday afternoon, but it’s what happened after that stunned onlookers.

Eyewitnesses told police that people were spotted stealing groceries out of the front seat of the dead woman’s Toyota 4-Runner, KTRK-TV reported.

“You see the person dead. How do you feel taking the person’s groceries?” onlooker Sheila Katoo told the local ABC affiliate.

“It’s unbelievable, I have never heard of such a thing,” another witness said.

The wife of a guy I used to work with found a corpse out in the boonies. She went to town and reported it. He got mad at her for not checking the pockets for cash.

A nation that turns its back on God will have people stealing groceries from the dead and 12 yr olds killing a “friend” to appease some demonic made up character in the forest.

I think, during the Civil War, boots wore out and there were no replacements, and boys outgrew their boots.

I doubt the dead begrudged their boots to their comrades, although a pocket watch should have been sent home to the family.

I know a fellow biker who crashed his cycle.

People stopped when they saw him in the ditch. And took his bike and left him.

(He lived.)

I just sit here shaking my head because I don’t know what else to say. God help us.

I’m glad he’s okay.

Seat belts have about a 50% chance to save you, and a 50% chance to kill you, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

However, it’s still law to wear them.

I am so sorry that is the legacy that your father left you with. But, he was still your father, he gave you life. My guess is that you are a great man/woman who has always been there for their children, if you have them.

My dad was part of "The Greatest Generation" that fought WW2. Hard drinking and hard fighting. I am the youngest of four brothers. Our father abandoned us after our mother died. We were in and out of foster homes and lived with this relative and that relative. I suppose they done what they could at the time. My dad chose the life he lived and I have no resentment towards him. I raised two beautiful daughters who never knew what is was like to be hungry. I have a 16 month old blue eyed, red haired grand daughter who will hear lots of stories about her great grandfather.

Years ago we drove from Kansas to the west coast of Mexico. Went through an area of really bad roads and came upon an overturned truck whose cargo of fresh fruit was strewn everywhere. Lots of people with baskets coming down out of the hills to pick up and carry the fruit away, some of them even had to step over the bodies of three people who appeared to have been ejected from the truck.

Took us a while to get around the scene and we never once saw anyone checking on the truck’s occupants.

“A Houston mother ....was fatally wounded after being involved in a car crash”........

That headline sounded like the woman had been shot first and then in a car crash.

The remainder of the story did not surprise me at all. A nation of animals has emerged.

To this type of mindset, how is taking groceries out of a dead person's car any different from this?

I know a fellow biker who crashed his cycle.

I was racing my motorcycle in a stupid place in a stupid way. I was going so fast I ran right off the road and landed 10 feet away on my back in a ditch.

As I lay there, a guy came by and asked if he could help. I said, yes, please, I'd like to get my (wrecked) bike to the ferry dock.

Guess what happened ? When I showed up at the ferry dock, the fella had brought my bike there, and another friend took it on the ferry to the other side. My bike was waiting for me there.

Never saw that man before, and never saw him again. Most people are not like the scum in this article.

The card in that person’s hand is an EBT card which is the politically correct of saying ‘food stamps’. By brandishing that card, the holder is displaying their specialized classification of one who is entitled to free food that has been paid for by someone else. Thus to such a person, groceries hold no value in the sense of how much labor was required to trade for them. Instead, groceries have become an entitlement. In other words, the people who ‘took’ the groceries out of this car view groceries as something they are entitled to without having to exchange any personal labor for them.
