This wouldn't be worth posting except for the fact that there are plenty of folks who would take this nut-case seriously.
These lefties are the same ones who believe in Barack Obama, and global warming....talk about myths harming children....sheeeeeesh!
As a Christian, I agree with Dawkins that the myth of Santa Claus can be harmful to children.
although I like most others love Christmas, I have often questioned whether it’s a good thing to associate a lie with the greatest truth in history. I sometimes wonder if children will come to the conclusion that Christ is a fairytale just like Santa, that parents lie to kids about for their own good.
finding out that mom and dad were santa clause never ruined my world. in fact, it gave me a deeper appreciation and love for who they were and the sacrifices they made for our family.
Should we ban Christmas?
NO
Denying the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem?
Easter is being replaced by Earth Day. Christmas is being replaced by the Winter Solstice. Washington’s Birthday and Lincoln’s Birthday was replaced by Presidents Day. Other outrages are being perpetrated—reader discretion advised.
This guy obviously does not have children, as little children play make believe all the time. To quash this would stunt their growth and creativity.
And here it is June 6th. Go watch some old film of men bravely storming the beaches of Normandy to free people of other nations. I bet every one of those men was told “the myth” of Santa Claus as a child.

We can agree on an age 12,15, 20 or 30, 40 when we should let these children know that there is no one going to come down the chimney to bring them every thing their hearts desire.
We should also awaken them to the fact that the story of David and Goliath was something that happened in Biblical history and is not just another : Alice in wonderland : fairy tale.
Of all the holidays that Christians observe, xmas is by far the easiest to prove is utterly false and unscriptural. In fact hardly a year goes by without some article or program on a network about the pagan origins of the day.
I think most older folks knew where their presents came from, at least every one I know did.
But I guess we think our kids are so stupid that we can lie to them, lies are of the devil, the devil is an ugly little guy with big ears and a tail.

My bride and I chose not to tell our oldest daughter about the myth of Santa Claus but to tell her the story of St. Nick of Smyrna.
She still likes to “pretend” about Santa Claus, but always tells her friends about the Real st Nick
Another item for my gratitude list: I am grateful Dawkins was not my father.
What a dark world we’re heading into.
“’Is it a good thing to go along with the fantasy of childhood?,’ he said. ‘Or should we be fostering a spirit of scepticism?.’”
What Dawkins is talking about isn’t skepticism, it’s cynicism.”
What a bitter old man he must be.
I think they should show what muzzies do on a regular basis to thier children, wives and those who deny Allah
We never lied to our children or grandchildren about Santa. Mostly, I think it’s harmless, but I do wonder why it is our two great Christian holidays are taken over by a bunny and a fat guy in a red suit. That said, we let it slide if one of our kids picked up Santa or the Easter Bunny on his own. That is, we never corrected them and just let them figure it out on their own. However, we never would have let our two adopted kids believe in Santa - it would have damaged the trust building that is needed for the attachment process. In their eyes, I’m certain they’d have seen it as a violation.
\A very good overview of our Orthodox view of St. Nicholas is at

We were raised being told about St. Nicholas and never had to figure out anything to the contrary.
