The cold weather really did in my fig trees here in Mississippi. No new growth on the old established branches (dead wood) but all three have started new growth from the roots and are looking very healthy right now.
I wondered if it was something I’d done to my figs as they’re doing the exact same thing. All the above ground limbs are dead and they’re coming up at the base from the roots.
Good to know it’s not something I’d done. I’ll try to remember to mulch them next winter and see if that makes a difference and maybe cover if it gets below 15F.
