I don’t think that there’s anything worse to stand on than concrete. Our floors downstairs are either tile or wood. The kitchen is tile, so that’s where we have the rubber mats.

I'd like to replace the flooring down stairs with something that would be softer and resistant to mold in case of water spills and leaks.

Hubby want to do ceramic tile. That's a no go for me because that wouldn't be any softer than concrete. And I don't like carpet, since we have our doggie and a couple of bed rooms down stairs. I like the rugs to be something that I throw in the washer.

Our daughter has a vinyl flooring that has about 3/4 inch padding and didn't have to be glued down, so that's one thing that's possible, but I'll have to research it more.

We have so much furniture too that to redo the floor is going to be a real pain. I can see how we could do it in stages, but to do it all at once could be a problem.
