Here’s a possibility-rubber tiles:

Rubber

Available in sheets or tiles, this resilient floor option is sleek, contemporary, and comfortable underfoot. Colors vary from earthy to bright and, like linoleum, run all the way through for a hue that won’t fade or wear. The surface comes in a variety of patterns and textures, and finishes vary from glossy to matte. Rubber is quite durable, resists water and burns, and is easy to clean and install. A popular option for garages, rubber is also ideal for hardworking areas such as kitchens, baths, entries, and exercise rooms.

Thanks for the links. That sounds perfect for the kitchen and hallway. I’ll have to show hubby.

I can compromise on the bathroom and put in ceramic tile, since I always have cushy throw rugs, and don’t spend much time in there standing anyway.
