I thought they measured 2 other horses, but not Secretariat. Upon measuring those horses, they assumed his heart was large because they being great winners as him. Not sure except they did measure horses who were exceptional winners.

I think he would have beat the field with 11 horses racing against him. It didn’t even look like an effort for him.
