Metallica Might Be Booted From Festival For Bear Hunting

Animal rights activists want Metallica booted from the Glastonbury music festival because frontman James Hetfield is an enthusiastic hunter, the Telegraph reports.

A Facebook page calling for their removal, launched shortly after the History Channel announced that Hetfield will narrate its new series about bear hunting, already has over 27 thousand likes.

The page says that Hetfield’s “support of big game hunting…is incompatible with the spirit of Glastonbury and brings its good name into disrepute.”

Hetfield, who once admitted that he missed his son’s birthday while hunting bears in Russia, is a member of the NRA and has described himself as “pretty conservative on a lot of things.” “I love nature,” he said in a 1993 interview with Rolling Stone. “I love the wilderness, and there is not much more of it left. It makes me hate people. Animals, they don’t lie to each other. There is an innocence within them. And they’re getting...

Man, I envy you and your daughter. Bruce Dickinson has got a great voice and a range like an air raid siren, but Dio was just more a pure singer, pitch-perfect, IMO. (This comes from a man was not only a choirboy, but who’s father was an opera tenor who sang professionally at The Met.) And Lemmy is.....Lemmy. LMAO!

> Metallica and Megadeth. Dave Mustaine is an unabashed conservative as well.

Hard to believe this was Dio back in his Doo Wop days.

It was very awesome. After the concert started, I just stood in the back and enjoyed the whole show. I also have the tape.

> He kills the bears with his bare hands and wears the pelts, still bloody, for his shows.

Chuck Norris simply stares them down and they follow him back home to live the rest of their existence as bear rugs...

Love when bands take old tunes and do this to them.

Motorhead opened, Dio was act 2 and Maiden headlined. Motorhead was what you’d expect. Dio (W/Goldy on guitar) just floored everyone. The man can do no wrong) and then Maiden.

I think the sun rises and sets on Dickenson vocally, but to see those two back to back and 100% on fire all night was a truly amazing thing to see and hear.

The kid gets lots of hate to this day from dudes that are jealous ;)

I love to expose my kids to old classics. They catch on.

That was really a definitive tune for him back in the post-pre-post Sabbath v2.0 Ozzy years in the 80's. He was awesome in Rainbow, as well, but Ritchie Blackmore was such a difficult horse's gluteal pair to work with, Dio walked. Man On The Silver Mountain really was a master class from a man showing his vocal chops.

I’m doing you a favor
As I’m taking all your money
I guess, I should feel sorry
But I don’t even trust me
There’s bad news creeping up
And you feel a sudden chill
How do you do? My name is trouble
I’m coming in for the kill
In for the kill
Ooh, and you know I will

Really? Well, thirty years, a foot of hair, and about sixty pounds ago, me and my Japanese Les Paul knockoff could open up a can of whoop-ass on ZZ Top. LOL!

“Never heard a Metallica song in my life”

At first I was wondering how that can be, but I’m not a big C&W fan (although it’s fun to dance to) so I guess it can happen.

I think that in order to lave lived a full life, one needs to hear Master of Puppets, the entire album, at least once.

MOP, Sanitarium, and of course, Disposable Heroes are required listening at minimum.
