“Father, I am a girl and because I am a girl you really should be more sympathetic and compassionate toward me next time.
I would take that as a warning sign...something is amiss there! (Disney Little Mermaid syndrome!)
You might think so, but she is actually just an exceptionally bright child and she now at age 7, is not at all any sort of diva nor does she act like she is an entitled Disney Princess. She is very polite and very well behaved and a complete joy to her parents, her younger sisters, most of the time, and all her teachers. But she is perhaps a bit precocious in that she is always asking questions and isnt afraid to engage adults in conversation and if she has a strong opinion on something, she isnt afraid to state and make her case and I dont necessarily see that as a bad thing.
She is very interested in American history and especially in early American history. She is a ravenous reader, reading far above her grade level, and she has since she was 4 years old, has said she wants to be President of the United States one day. Her heroes are Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Regan and Sara Palin : )
On this last Memorial Day, she told her mom that she wanted to dress in her favorite Red, White and Blue outfit and wear her US flag pin and her great-grandfathers VFW Poppy Pin in order to honor what the day was really all about- all the US soldiers who died. Not many 7 year olds or adults for that matter get what Memorial Day is about.
I have no worries about her; there is nothing amiss about her IMO.
