Just broke out the flashlights again - we’ve got a hailstorm so intense, it looks like it’s raining mothballs! Big boomer out there. And the grandaddy of them all hasn’t even crossed the county line yet........

Yea I keep backups of everything. Are you slicing the pork?

Here's my new butt process...pork is either plan or dusted with ksalt. No rub. Put on smoker at 300f. Use pecan, cherry, apple, etc. Try to take off at 198f. Pull meat, toss with salt to flavor. Serve sauce on the side.

I've been injecting and foiling and whatever...and now it's back to basics and it's the best stuff.

If you follow I-85 there right to the GA/AL line, that's where we're at. And that Big Daddy looks to be heading a little southeast now. Toward us. The wife just found one cat under the sofa, another one cowering on the china cabinet, two others looking out the window, and one is completely MIA. We think she hid in the garage. Before we reprogrammed them into indoor rats, they were outdoor rats. And the MIA rat got caught in a bad hailstorm two years ago. She remembers. She got some knots on her itty-bitty widdle noggin.

Found her. In the closet.

We have 8 rats, and they’re about as spoiled as they come. I know your getties will be fine.

“Getty” is a word we came up with from listening to the way Marshal Dillon says her name, “Kitty,” but it sometimes sounds like he says, “Getty.” So, we call ours “getties.”

We've battened down for the evening. The troops are all accounted for now. Candles and flashlights at the ready. But I have an SUV in the driveway that barely has 10,000 miles on it, and if I go out there and see one ding, dent, chip, or crack.......grrrrrrrr. Not to mention all the squash, peppers, and whatnot growing out back. You should have seen what our 2 AM storm from last night did to things. I have a feeling that sunrise tomorrow is going to turn into a FEMA damage survey. LOL!

Uh-oh. More thunder in the distance. And this one is growing as it gets closer. It's gonna roll through like a Panzer tank, this one is. I've been a trained storm spotter for the NWS for 20 years and did course work in Meteorology and Oceanography in college just as a hobby, so this sort of thing to me is like a Spaniard watching the bulls run.
