and aren’t there MEN (or at least metrosexuals) who subscribe to these cockamamie theories also? I honestly do not understand the intense victimhood that is going on with women. I am not hideous, I have enjoyed male attention. I have NEVER felt threatened by a male in any way shape or form in my life. I have always felt myself as equal to any man and capable of dealing with any situation. I sincerely doubt that young guys are now all rapists. It also speaks to a lack of responsibility for yourself. I have never been a hobag who put myself at risk by being incapacitated by alcohol or drugs, out in the public. I KNOW they think they should be permitted to walk around naked and drunk and suffer no ill consequences, bc they are THAT stupid.
Watters world.
A glass of wine or a beer to help stimulate milk flow is going to have a negligible effect.
It’s benefits outweigh its potential harms.
Because you have enough sense to be willing to sacrifice for the greater good.
If men selected presidents, we would never have had Clinton or Obama.
Speaking in generalities, women look for protection and care from the gov’t in a way that men don’t. This is bad for the republic.
Unfortunately, racists (real racists) poisoned that well.
I wasn’t aware once a mother was nursing that it became necessary to stimulate milk flow. How about smoking pot? Wouldn’t that help stimulate milk flow too?
I agree - I never felt it was fair when a rape victim was accused of asking for it because of wearing a short skirt or whatever, but women putting themselves into a dangerous situation by being drunk or high and getting into a sexual situation then claiming it is the guys fault is just pathetic. Have some self respect and use some common sense for a change!
I never had trouble producing milk, but you do hear about women who have to stop breastfeeding bc of inadequate supply such that the baby is not satisfied or not gaining weight. They start supplementing with formula and then for SURE the supply will dwindle.
I am not aware of any research on marijuana use for this.
But it is not unheard of for nursing mothers to be recommended that glass of wine.
Is the idea behind it just to relax the mother? I’ve never heard of that before
really, you haven’t? because I grew up with that thought, even though I didn’t do it, it doesn’t strike me as odd at all. and my mother didn’t breastfeed me, bc they had just invented formula and thought that was BETTER than breastmilk in the 50s. Am I remembering correctly that you didn’t breastfeed?
(must've been unremorable...)
I didn't grow up with a lot of babies in my life so breastfeeding just wasn't a topic so no, I never heard drinking helped with breastfeeding.
Maybe it’s an old hunky wives’ tale? It’s certainly common knowledge as far as I am concerned.
Did Whyisa grow up in Texas? Among Baptists?
it could quite possibly be a hunky old wives tale, because it was definitely something I grew up hearing and am not scandalized by, even though no one I knew did it.
and it’s pretty specifically beer, certainly not hard alcohol, and not even wine, to my understanding. and for the record, the last beer I ever had was in 1978, my freshman year of college LOL!!
You might want to speak with a lactation consultant before you pass this kind of advice. There is no safe amount of alcohol to consume that guarantees not to have an effect.
Si la pantalla se vuelve azul, hay un problema...
Hillary is fervently hoping
Her past deeds will go away
But, like Monica Lewinsky
They seem determined to stay
They stick to the underside
Of scandals in deepest dark
Like patient little remoras
Cling to the belly of a shark
Benghazi and all are hidden,
Now things don’t look so bad-
Until blood is in the water
And there’s a meal to be had...
I’m older than you Dave - and yes I grew up surrounded by and worshiping with Baptists.... no one I knew of as a kid breastfed - I never even thought about it. Of course back then I would never have seen it because it would have been done in private I assume.
