I may be wrong, but I think that a lot of these guys come from special forces types. The ones I have know aren't especially big, but very fit. I had a buddy who became a SEAL. He was about the same size as me (5'10”) but was built like an Olympic gymnast.

I knew some men gymnasts at the University of Oklahoma. They are unbelievably strong!
Maybe I would notice something different if I saw Secret Service officers today. I was only 18 then, and they were middle-aged guys in suits, with headphones and walkie-talkies.
Vice President Bush was very polite.
