Wonderful! Thanks be to God!

I don’t think the Gates’ are evil, and they do a lot of good with their money...but being liberals, they are very much adrift and can easily be dragged off into supporting the current “progressive” cause - in this case, abortion.

I’m very happy that they have rejected this. Supporting abortion would undercut all of the good things they do, and maybe they realized that.

I think your right on w/ your analysis. From reading the article, Gates indicated that the foundation wanted to concentrate on noncontroversial programs re: women and children’s health.

Maybe coming from Seattle I’m biased. But I just don’t see the Gates family as evil. I had the chance to work with Gate’s SR years ago on a charity program and I found him to be a thoughtful, sincere and caring man. I don’t see Bill and Melinda as too far removed for Gates SR in their world view...but I don’t pretend to know any of them or what’s in their hearts. But as Melinda Gates is a devout Catholic, I’m guessing her religious views did come into play re: not supporting/ nor paying for abortion.

And mainly...it’s their money...I’m happy they are trying to promote health and I’m glad that excludes abortion. There are way worse ways, IMO, for rich people to spend their money than how the Gates foundation spends their $$$.
