There should be a 10% tax on remittances to Latin America.
There are wide swaths of Federal Land that is off limits to US citizens because it is too dangerous with human trafficking. It will be quite a show down between the cartels and us.
Or at least, tax all the money wires to them.
Or for every cost for free emergency care, women’s reproductive needs, housing subsidies, welfare, education,etc., should be taken out of trade with them.
Or if that is not possible, and we don’t need that many bananas, we redraw the lines and make the border straight across to Baja California and AZ gets beachfront property.
We are too afraid of the optics to physical route out the ones who are here. They have very noisy advocates.
However, if there was a pandemic, that hysteria might change public perception, and in the houses and apartments where they live cheek to jaw, we would be able to remove whole extended families.
This makes me so mad. For immigrants like my family, who love the rule of law of this country, this is a sin.
