You know, “high kicks” that make contact are fouls “per se”! The reason they are fouls (and often yellow cards) is that they epitomize “dangerous play. They are fouls even with no contact for exactly this reason.
Foreign players fall and whine and roll on the ground in agony at a near miss. If Ronaldo or Pirlo had been kicked like this, no telling how they would have acted!

Hmmmm...come back to me at the end of the group stage on that, Berlin_Freeper. lol. We’re not dead yet.
That and a USA draw against Portugal will be enough to make USA advancement almost certain (barring getting blown out by Germany in the 3rd game).
