Thanks. The thing about the old school coaches is that, even if you hated playing against them, they all were made of the same kind of no-nonsense stuff.
“Act like you’ve been there before” after scoring. No “celebrating” mundane tasks.
Noll was famous for telling players that he was as likely to fire them as to motivate them. They were supposed to be professional football players. They shouldn’t require outside motivation to do their jobs and excell.
And Noll is a role model because he did his job and then went home to his family. He wasn’t looking for fame. He didn’t hawk Cadillacs or razor blades.

Yeah those old school guys are quickly fading...but then again, the diva players are multiplying so the old school guys probably wouldn’t survive these days. I’m sure they have professional babysitters for some of these guys!
