I heard of don’t choke your chicken, but this is the first time I heard don’t wash your chicken.

He won’t mind that — he doesn’t like to get cleaned up anyway.

I just toss mine in the dishwasher. Put a little dawn in there and blammo. Squeaky clean.

An FSA flyer explains that raw chicken contains campylobacter, the most common cause of food poisoning in the U.K., and if a chicken is washed before it’s cooked the bacteria spreads onto hands, work surfaces, clothing and cooking equipment through splashing water droplets.
Uhm....That’s why I clean everything in the kitchen when I cook....
Idiotic premise...

Apparently, if you cut off oxygen to your chicken for too long, you have to wash it...

I use lemon-scented Dawn and click the button for 'High Temp Clean'.
When I take it out, I have freshly steamed lemon chicken!

If you don’t wash your chicken before choking it, do you still go blind? (Another myth ‘they’ pushed on us back in the day. About as truthful as sitting under a desk during a Nuclear Attack will save you).
Do ‘they’ still try to push the hair on palms theory?
I didn’t have sons so did NOT have to pass along these gems of advice.

Kosher salt.
Wet chicken, rub kosher salt all over, inside and out, and rinse.
It’ll kill everything.

From my evolution book, "Darwin's Ghost" by Steve Jones ...
"Just a tenth of our bodies are human. Most of the rest belong to bacteria (although a few fungi, mites and worms leaven the mix."
Washing hands after hand washing raw chicken is what I'd recommend.

Mrs p6 can't stand it when I cook. I clean the counter, knives, sink, pans, EVERYTHING as I go.
Drives her NUTZ but that's a short drive after living with me for near 40 years....

Who said to blast it with a fire hose? Sure, if the water is coming out of your faucet like that ... we wipe down all surfaces with a mild bleach solution and use only one cutting board for chicken.
