lololololololol....oh my...
I don’t know, the 13 year old should have been able to handle that.
Sometimes people screw up, it doesn’t always mean they’ve broken the law.
Dad got into a scuffle with LE....I’ll search for the link
We’ve all been there or close to there. My kid had NO FEAR in her at all. It scared the heck out of me.
it’s the fear of getting involved. it’s something that has to be overcome.
Not many are up to the task
Trouble is, especially if you are man, if you run up to a strange kid and look after them, there is a good chance people will assume you are a pedo and then you are screwed. Its easier to just assume the responsible adult will be along shortly to pick them up.

Always taught my kids to look for a mamma with a stroller if they were lost. I get it though. I found a four year old crying and lost at the mall. I stood near him and flagged people down to get security. I did not touch him, I just told him that I was watching to make sure he was safe. I did not leave him even when security showed up. I stayed with him until his family was found.

These days I would be arrested.
That happened to me as a toddler - my sister was in charge. A trucker stopped on the highway, then got a cop on his CB. They brought me home (three blocks) to my sister (mom and dad still not home).
Everything was going well for my sister until I said “p-man” at the dinner table. I kept saying it along with other garbled words and gestures. My mom couldn’t figure out what I was talking about. But she noticed my older sister getting redder and redder! Mom finally got it out of her.
Sis is also the one that I learned the sh*& swear word from. I first tried that out at the Thanksgiving dinner table with all the relatives assembled!
(RIP sis! Who told me these stories as I sure don’t recall them!!)
That photo is wonderful! Reminds me of that guy that rescued those girls that had been sex-slaves for all those years. “I knew there was a problem when this pretty white girl came running towards me - a black man!” (Or something like that)
Then he got torn to pieces by scumbag journos who wanted to bring down a hero. This is why most people try to stay modest, because envious types will always try to bring you down.
The girl in the article was very lucky in these times that a person with conscience found her before a pervert did.
The people who demand "There ought to be a law!" have pretty much caught up with every imperfection in life.
If your world isn't dead solid perfect (as they see it), chances are you can be charged with something, should your mischance, moment of distraction, or other fleeting moment of human frailty be brought to the attention of the authorities.
