SAO PAULO U.S. striker Jozy Altidore will undergo an MRI exam late Tuesday to determine the severity of a hamstring injury that sidelined him in the first half of the 2-1 victory over Ghana on Monday night in Natal.
Even in a best-case scenario, Altidore seems certain to miss the final two Group G matches: Sunday against Portugal in Manaus and June 22 against Germany in Recife.
Altidores prognosis probably will not be known in time for Coach Jurgen Klinsmanns media briefing after U.S. training late this afternoon at Sao Paulo FC.
After Mondays match, Altidore said he hopes to return soon.
