Cameroon coach blasts 'disgusting' players
"It's disgusting and I don't like it," said the German coach.

"We will need to talk to certain players. The behaviour of some of them was not at all satisfying. It's unacceptable to see that kind of thing."

Spain are out and, as the article suggests, with a whimper and not a bang. Perhaps glutted with winning their past three big competitions, they no longer had the hunger. It wasn’t just their king who abdicated. They didn’t have the stomach for the fight any more. End of an era.

There's that, and I'm wondering if player selection for starters and subs might have some petty and subtle "punishment" for players who recently signed with non-Spanish club teams. If so, that really showed them, huh?

Klinsmann adamant: We can beat Portugal
"We have very good players in this squad and we have the confidence to go into that game and say 'we are here and want to beat you and get into the next round'," he declared.

"Our approach is not to go to Manaus and defend for 1-1 or 0-0 or whatever it is but we go there and want to win this game."

Maradona warns England: Uruguay can eat teams alive
"Oh, how I'd love to play in a match like this," he told De Zurda. "This match will be so good.

"This England side can be beaten. I saw them against Italy. The thing is, when Uruguay are with their backs against the wall, they can eat you alive."

DOn’t you recall the Mexican crowds chanting Osama during the NAtional Anthem and and after the game. Did that in Mexico when we played them and in Los Angeles where the crowd was 98% pro Mexico. The looks on the American players were of utter shock. I always want Mexico to lose for that - but I admit they played a good match against Brazil and was almost rooting for them.

I had a feeling it was going to happen.

The 3-0 loss to Brazil in the Confederation Cup Final basically was the sign that their reign was over. When a team that has has success for an extended period realizes that it's over, their motivation is gone, and they won't do the little things anymore. Spain, right then and there should have realized an overhaul was necessary.

Despite how well Mexico played against Brazil and Cameroon, I think Croatia should be able to handle Mexico in that 3rd game of Group A. Should it be a draw or loss by Croatia, Mexico can go through and Croatia can feel they were treated a bit harsh in their 1st match vs. Brazil.

Still, the Mexican Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has been magnificent in play.

Can England be knocked out of the World Cup tonight?
it's a little complicated, but the good news is that there are only two possible permutations in which England can actually be knocked out tonight. Phew! The bad news is that there's absolutely no way England can guarantee qualification tonight. Oh.
