Well, there is something behind Ronaldo’s arrogance. What a pass and goal! Sob.
They’re playing better than most of us thought they would have but they should have won this game. It’s inexcusable to give up a goal on the last play of the game.
Last goal was scored with 20 seconds left in the game. Sickening. We had it in the bag.
It was an amazing game, one of the best times I ever had with a sports game. The bar was simple exploding with every shot on goal. That last goal was beautiful, but sad for USA fans. Still, there is hope, in fact even a good chance that we advance.
The U.S. did score two, but had MANY other opportunities… Just before their tying goal, they had a yawning goal-mouth to put the ball into, but the only opponent in the picture (NOT the goaltender) somehow got his knee on the shot to deflect it away.
Even so, kudos for a thrilling effort, and good luck to the squad in the last Group match. Unless Portugal wins their game by more goals than the U.S. *might* lose to Germany, the Americans should advance onward.
What a “sport”! That’s pretty exciting, no?
So the clock ran out, and they kept playing until the other team could tie the score?
