Schumacher Leaves French Hospital, Out of Coma

Nearly six months after sustaining serious head injuries in a skiing accident, seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher left a French hospital on Monday and was transferred to neighboring Switzerland to continue his recovery.

Schumacher "is not in a coma anymore," his manager, Sabine Kehm, said in a brief statement announcing that the German driver had left the Grenoble University Hospital, where he had been treated since his accident Dec. 29.

Sadly, I think the lack of information given along with this news of his check-out from the hospital indicates that Mr. Schumacher is in very, very bad shape.

Please say prayers for him and his family.

A good friend of mine was put into an induced coma after a motorcycle racing accident. He recovered but was never the same person. Completely different personality and demeanor. I feel for Schumacher and his family.

One of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. I don’t think the BBC show, Top Gear, has done enough to report on the famous STIG. If I were them, I’d close every show with a get well message.
