This is one reason I hate Google.

In the past, one thing that’s always separated Google from its rivals has been the ability to use Google services across many platforms. Whether you owned an iPhone, an iPad, a Mac, or a Windows PC, you always had access to Google services like Search, Maps, and Docs. Of course, Google would prefer that you use Android and Chromebooks, but that rarely felt like a requirement.
At this year’s Google I/O conference, we’re starting to see a different strategy emerge. Google is now making the case that if you want the full Google experience, you need to use Android devices and Chromebooks together. In other words, Google is taking a page from the Apple playbook, and pushing users to lock themselves in.
Android Wear is a prime example. By design, Google’s smartwatch platform only works with Android phones. It relies heavily on Android’s actionable notifications—which let you do things like reply to a message or delete an email—and puts them directly on your wrist. On stage, Google also demonstrated how you could use a smartwatch to authenticate an Android phone or Chromebook, preventing you from having to enter a PIN or password when the watch is paired over Bluetooth. In another example, we saw how an Android Wear user could send recipe instructions from a smartphone app to the watch, with the app following along as the user moved through each step.

This is one reason I hate Google.
I like my Windows phone. Cheap, too. Android OS is the clunkiest of the three phones.
I feel the same way about Yahoo and Bing. Constantly taking over my home page, changing my tool bar.
My comment this morning to my wife was about how these software companies just automatically make major changes to the programs you are using... My comment... “If you like your software program you can keep it!!! (sarc)
If there is a viable alternative to Google (eg search, OS, email), I use it. I despise Google. YouTube is the only product where they have no real viable competition.
Yeah, that's why I use ixquick. It doesn't do anything to you and it doesn't track you.
I do my best to avoid Google as much as possible. Same goes
for Yahoo. I use Startpage.
You mean the no contract Lumia phone? If that’s the one yeah, my friend loves it as he pays $40 flat a month on it.

I use ixquick and like it also.
I have Ixquick HTTPS on my PaleMoon search bar. I am very careful to Uncheck all Chrome install boxes.

The “full Google experience”?? That’s when they stick the full 6” to you rather than the comparatively merciful 3” you normally get, I assume? They think we’re going to see that a an advantage worth sacrificing for??
Google and Chrome do the same thing as part of third-party software installs. I have yet to see that for Bing. Maybe I do not download the “right” proggie to witness that.
I fully intend to replace my NESt thermostat. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I don’t want google in my house.
I sure as hell don’t want them on my wrist. And I fully support establishments that want to ban GlassHoles.
Google is the public, commercial arm of the NSA.
If you stop updating your browser they will leave you alone. How do I know this? I use Win XP with Firefox 10.0. My active X is shutoff. I don’t need to see star bursting lights when I open my browser, so I shut down all the fancy stuff. I haven’t had any viruses or bugs either but then I don’t open blogs or porn sites.
If people use Google products aren’t asking for the full 6” ramrod? Stay away from queers and you never have to look over your shoulder to see who is following you.
I found some of the worst ones were from links on Drudge Report. I am very thankful that people here keep the links clean.
