Thank you, Sgt. Carter.
Good cop this time, but, sadly he is the exception, not the rule.
Do you have any statistics to back your opinion up?
Very true one reads about dog shootings.
But every day hundreds of thousands of officers go to work every day and they do not shoot dogs.
The total percentage of officers shooting a dog is very small.
I’m very happy to see a different outcome over the last reported Dog Killing in California.
I would also thank the Officer for thinking before going into panic mode and pulling the trigger.
Police have to think that dogs are just as fearful of people as we are of them.So they shouldn’t shoot first before examining the situation.
Thank you so much for posting this!
I saw the story on the news last night and really wanted to share it. (But I don’t have a clue how to post a story.)
A good cop and good pitbull story...all in one!!
Good LEO & Dog bump.
Dog of Peace! Pit Bulls are just like other dogs. My friend’s in NYC suddenly mauled the leg of a pre-teen and he lost his house after the lawsuit. Could have happened with a West Highland White or Norwegian Elkhound!
Agreed. Orange County, CA has over 3 million people and there has been one LEO involved shooting of dogs in many years (by all accounts it was justified). Recently our rescue adopted out a dog and it got loose the first day. Four PDs responded by sending out bulletins for officers to report any loose German shepherds; he was found later in the day.
