GOTCHA! Truck Driver Busts Cop On His Cellphone, Speeding [VIDEO]

A truck driver showed what can happen when police officers find out they’re being videotaped.

Brian Miner was pulled over in Illinois last week after he honked his truck horn at a state police officer he claims was using his cellphone while speeding on a wet highway.

“I pulled you over – the horn, I don’t know what that was about,” the officer told Miner, who recorded the traffic stop.

“Because you were speeding and had your cellphone in your hand,” said Miner, explaining why he was honking.

“Police officers can actually use technology when they’re driving,” said the officer.

“Oh, so you guys are above the law?” Miner asked.

The officer replied, arguing that Miner couldn’t be sure that he was exceeding the 70 miles-per-hour speed limit.

“You passed me! How fast were you driving? Are you above the speed limit as well?” Miner asks, telling the officer that had his cruise control set at 65 miles per hour.

“You were going well over 70,” Miner exclaimed.

The officer did not back down, claiming that Miner had no good reason to honk his horn.

“There was a good reason to,” Miner said. “You were speeding, it’s wet roads. You were speeding with a cellphone in your hand.”

Unphased, the officer told Miner he was issuing him a ticked for “unlawful use of horn.”

Then Miner issued a game-changer.

“By the way, you’re being recorded,” said the trucker, as he picked the camera up from his dashboard and directed it towards the officer.

“Yeah, so are you,” said the officer, in a moment of defiance that would soon dissipate.

The officer asked Miner how many driving hours he had left for the day and then went back to his cruiser to check the trucker’s license and registration.

No problem.

Just web search something like:

Send cell phone video — or just video off to remote site, server, hard drive etc.

A ton of sites are out there. I believe some are actually free...

In the past, they could go back to the station and have a "hard drive crash" that wipes out that officer's recording of that day only.

We call that "IRS-style".

Someone needs to record a "Gangnam Style" video with Lois Lerner & John Koskinen "trashing a hard-drive" - "IRS Style".

Cops are really damned jumpy lately. As a personal experience, a small, stray dog came into our yard, started playing with the kids, really super friendly, got along great with my other dogs, and so we let him stay a few nights, and he settled in nicely. I would have kept him, but city ordinances said we’re only allowed two dogs, so being the good citizen that I am, I called the police, and I had the dog outside on a leash, not barking or anything as the policeman showed up.

He stepped out of the cruiser, and immediately had his hand on his gun...enough though the dog was nothing but pleasant to him.... I live in a small Minnesota town where virtually NOTHING ever happens. Other people have noticed this same behavior. I felt it was unnecessary behavior. Cops I knew of old knew the people of the town, knew the local life, and they had a laid-back attitude. Lately, all of these “new” cops have been little nazis. They really create a lot of tension, and they absolutely have no reason to; do the cops know something we don’t? Are they under pressure to act in a different way now?

I just don’t get it. It makes me uneasy. I would hesitate to call any cops nowadays.

The officer headed back to his cruiser, and Miner turned the camera on himself. “And that’s what happens when they know you’re recording,” he said.
