my father died of prostate cancer about 12 years ago. My mother preceded him in death by 12 years from tuberculosis. please don’t tell me that you are one of those who believe that if you FEEL and SMELL ok, that you are probably healthy, bc I will have to go into a primal scream mode. I think annual physicals with routine blood work is a PRUDENT thing to do to monitor one’s health in middle age and beyond. I don’t fear doctors, I don’t idolize doctors, I also don’t believe that they are out to line their pockets at my expense. I am an educated consumer of medical care.

is sister #3 the only problem one? I can’t say I blame you, I am to the point that I do not care to converse with anyone of the lib persuasion. I can talk to them only about our respective families, nothing further.

Bless ya XS - I find the religious threads too much a clown show to resist, though i know i should. I know it’s pointless, but just too damn amusing. I love that morons there openly brag about insulting/lying about other conservatives because they “are saving souls, and that’s more important than politics.”

I have seen you there and always laugh at you taking them on. I just can’t. I want to murder people on those threads. Whose souls are they saving? the catholics that they are insulting on a daily basis? I wonder how that is working out for them, what’s their success rate in bringing someone to Christ when they malign the beliefs of catholics in the most nasty way imaginable. Yeah, that is the love of Christ shining out from them, all right.

You are right on the money, XS.

On a side note - if smell was a determining factor for doctor visits, how would proctologists ever keep their jobs?

no, I think they would be the most successful specialty if someone waited for smell as an indicia they needed checked out...

Actually, it's her husband. And their grown son.

One of my sons often gets into Facebook arguments with his cousin, and with one or two other libs. God bless the kid; I just don't have the patience. Otherwise intelligent people just wear the progressive blinders. There's no critical thinking--only regurgitation of whatever drivel they picked up via the talking points on the Daily Kos, or from one of the geniuses on MSNBC.

The truth is so obvious to me that I really have zero tolerance for anyone who doesn't agree with me 100%. Anyone who doesn't realize what the first 6 years of an ulta-progressive president has done to this country is unworthy of the time I would take to engage them. I'd rather hang out with conservatives in the real world, and on FreeRepublic and Twitter than try to teach blind people how to read, using only their eyes.

A lot of medical testing is done to CYA and because patients demand it, not because there is a true medical need. That’s just my opinion, because I have seen a lot of excess testing done on the very poor who then pass the bill onto the taxpayers.

I totally agree 100%. They might as well live on another planet for as much as i have in common with them. Want zero to do with them.

They simply haven’t had enough pain yet. Maybe next summer’s blackouts will help.

Do you consider an annual pap smear to be unnecessary testing? colonoscopies every 5?

Is this all yawp about a tropical storm for the east coast this weekend, or is there really something to it.

I was going to go offshore tuna fishing, looks like that won’t be much fun.

No, I don’t. Colonscopies every 5 might not be needed, depending on the age started and family history. I’m talking about the MRIs on way too many when a simple x-ray would do.
