Neymar, 22, picked up left thigh and right knee injuries in the second-round win on penalties against Chile.

"The worst is the knee - it's what's hurting the most," said Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Paiva.

"He will be evaluated again, but team doctor Jose Luiz Runco said fans don't have to worry because he's not a concern for the match."

I was 7-1 in round of 16 picks (damn Belgians!). For the quarterfinals, I have Columbia, Germany, Netherlands, and Argentina advancing.

Germany is in crisis after the Algeria fiasco.

Something about Lamb out of position in defensive midfield...

Using 4 trained inner defenders instead of 2 inner and 2 outer (which is normal)...

Manager does the opposite of criticism, in spite...

As long as they keep winning, the manager is right, isn’t he? Of course, all the criticism will be justified as soon as they lose. That’s just the way it goes.

With Algeria, Germany won after the injury Mustafi forced Khedira in and pushed Lahm to right hand defender, which is how it should be but Lahm doesn’t want to play that position anymore because he can play more years in the center which involves less running...

In German Lahm means lame, as a Bayern Munich fan I renamed him Lamb years ago...

Just continuing from yesterday's thread, I don't think the Wondo opportunity was ruled offside. I feel for the guy, still, one can picture other players in this position. One stands to get a rebound if they kick it on frame and one would think a lot of talent would have made this.

A moment that will go down in US soccer-lore, should he have made it? A bit like the Field Goal missed by the Buffalo Bills in the Superbowl.

Best to leave it at that.

There was a very small window for Wondo to shoot at if he wanted to go top. Courtois was in good position to snuff if, had the shot been lower.

What Wondo should have done was to go low past Coutrois’ feet.
