Thank you for your reply. I have had to abandon Firefox and gone back to Iexplorer. Pale Moon simply freezes my PC and gives me “sorry but we have to close your computer now” warnings. The web has become so difficult to use I may simply abandon it. Almost every download site for some browser tries to install dozens of other crap programs into your PC. I finally made Spybot/antivirus run but have to go into safe mode to make it work. All in all, a bummer.

if you have these many problems your supposed to reload your operating system. You can pretty much assume that or should assume that all your passwords have been sent off somewhere.

You should have a disk , if not you can download by googling it(”microsoft XP Home download” for instance) and end up at a place called DigitalRiver which runs downloading for M.S. OS systems. If you download then you’ll have to burn it to a DVD, if this is too much then perhaps DigitalRiver can sell you a copy by mail.

If you have a C.O.A. sticker aka M.S. serial # sticker for the OS your good to go.
