MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis high school teacher is charged with stalking and attempted criminal sexual conduct involving a student at his school.
Hennepin County Prosecutors say 46-year-old Dan Arlen Anderson, a social studies teacher at Minneapolis South High School, attempted to use his position of authority to coerce the girl into having sexual relations with him.

I hope he gets 20+ years,I would also venture to say that he’s probably done this to other girls.
It’s is so people don’t go after the Dan Anderson that didn’t do it.
I’ve noticed this in the last decade or so. I think it’s to sway any confusion with people with similar names. Like in my town, there are two people with the same name, only the middle name is different, and one is an upstanding local business owner and the other is an Obama-loving (I’m just guessing on that one)-habitual-meth-user scumbag.
If I was the upstanding business owner, I would want clarification, too.
He throws a career down the drain to go after a teenager, leaving text by text messages. The article does not say the girl went to her parents, but I’m glad she turned him in.
There have always been teachers like this, but it seems to happen every week these days.
What’s with these “educators”? There seem to be a lot of them afflicted with bad judgement. I guess that’s from working so hard and being underpaid...at least that’s the usual excuse “educators” give for anything unseemly in their lives. The 80% are making the others look bad.
If only school teachers were allowed to marry, things like this would never happen.
In my parent’s small town, there were two John White’s; a white John White and a black John White!
Way back when, schoolteachers, almost all female, were prohibited from getting married. If they did, which many did, of course, it was the end of their job.
Then later, things were turned on their head, and unmarried women would not be hired to teach.
Importantly, in neither of these cases was this done for moral reasons, but purely financial ones. Who could be hired for the least amount of money.
Truthfully, the ways to prevent student-teacher hanky panky are well known, and is based in strict rules, enforced by both the administration and other teachers. It is mostly common sense, that students and teachers are not allowed to fraternize off school grounds, and that when teachers and students meet individually, doors must be kept open and nearby teachers notified to keep an eye on things.
And any allegations of impropriety must be reported at once.
This is nothing new. Crime reports frequently use full names, including a middle name.
Lee Harvey Oswald and James Earl Ray come to mind.
Public schools are a plague.
