Sadly what did make front page news this week were the shocking words: “Don’t sup with whites: Mugabe.” Mr Mugabe said that people who had been given seized farms were leasing them out to white Zimbabweans and accused his own officials of being involved. “Some of my ministers are being mentioned here. They are refusing to remove white farmers from their constituencies… we are told that Chiefs are also involved in land deals,” Mr Mugabe said. “What annoys us... is where our own indigenous farmers sub-lease to the very same white farmers we took our heritage from yesterday,” he added. A whole new batch of A1 Permits are going to be issued, no doubt weeding out some forgeries, some corruption and some double dipping but undoubtedly opening the way for another wave of corruption, pocket filling and renewed land invasions on the few original commercial farms still operating.

I used to work with a black man from Zimbabwe, who would often opine that the only thing he could fault Mugabe for was the fact that he didn’t simply kill all the white ‘invaders’ and be done with it.
When I pointed out the fact that Mugabe’s actions had turned Zimbabwe from Africa’s Breadbasket to Africa’s Basket-Case, he said: Better to starve on your own land, than live as a well-fed slave on it.
I wound up asking him the pointed question: if Zimbabwe was so wonderful a place to live, now that Brother Mugabe has put all the white colonisers in their proper place, why then did he feel the need to move to North America?
He didn’t answer it. Instead, it turned into a new tirade about how North America is yet more land ‘stolen and colonised by whites’...

Working for wages on a farm owned by whites and being able
to leave that farm to seek out new opportunities a slave does not make.
It’d be nice to be in a position to help him reap his reward.
The first couple of elections he won more or less legitimately but the last few are all pretty much accepted to be fraudulent.
Why somebody connected with the regime hasn't tracked her down and silenced her is a great mystery.
Also a mystery is why in the world, with that great big target painted on her back, she has not upped stakes and headed to a safer location. Especially with kids.
At least send the kids to safety, like a lot of Jews did in preWWII Germany. Although they eventually wished they had left too, at least the kids didn't suffer for their blindness.

This has been going on for a long time. I believe Buckle was born in Zimbabwe and has no intent of leaving any more than I would leave America if faced with the same.
When Buckle lost her farm she was taken in by her former employees so its not some vast anti white sentiment held by every black person in the country.
If you wanted the answer to "why didn't the Jews leave Germany?" there it is.
In retrospect it may prove to be just as shortsighted. If her former employees are threatened convincingly enough (and from Mugabe's rhetoric it sure sounds like he's headed that way - "don't sup with whites" appears to be aimed at just such honest people) then her days are numbered.
She should send her kids to boarding school though.
I’m surprised that any whites are still there. Do I know what it means to leave the land you grew up on and that you love? No. (I’ve left for military assignment for years, but knew that the plan was my returning.)
I love these rolling hills, the oaks, maples, beeches, the river and streams. They look like home to me. Even smell like it to be honest with you.
What I couldn’t stand is if they took it all away and said I could live there but couldn’t be a part of it.
It would be hard to leave. I think I’d leave, though. And especially since they’re killing people. There is zero security.
