Colombia defender Camilo Zuniga has sent a letter of apology to Neymar, saying he is ''deeply sorry and sad'' for causing the injury that knocked the Brazil striker out of the World Cup.

He's 22. Many of these guys dramatize stuff to get fouls etc. He's certainly not alone in that. The fact is that the knee to the spine was hard enough to cause a vertebral fracture, and probably a spinal cord contusion - as it has now been revealed that he couldn't feel his legs after the event. Scary.
I don't think Zuniga was trying to hurt him to that degree, and certainly wasn't trying to paralyze him, but these guys develop a lot of force and momentum when they are going at it hard, and that's why the refs need to control the game from the beginning.
This is it. The path is set, it is our destiny.STEP 1: Avenge 2010 WC. Mission accomplished : 5-1, Spain knocked out.
STEP 2: Avenge 1978 WC. Plan: Destroy Argentina.
STEP 3: Avenge 1974 WC. Plan: Germany has to win from brasil, Then we will kick their ass in the final match.
RESULT: The Netherlands finaly wins the WC and beats all the teams they have lost to in previous finals.

Silva’s penalty was stupidity!
Argentina just lost Di Maria for rest of competition.
This is major news as the world “burns”?
It’s posted under “chat”.
This is what a chat is.

Unbeaten in 5 straight was Costa Rica.
A brilliant showing, defeated 2 top 10 FIFA teams.
Almost had the opportunity in Added Extra Time, the Perennial Dutch Power survived a big scare.
The referee called the Brazil Colombia match too loosely, I’m sorry for Neymar’s injury but if one reads around the internet, it seems it is Brazil that is being called out for playing ugly.
Not only that, let’s not forget there was a scuffle in the tunnel of the Brazil Chile game at halftime and the Brazilian Press Officer, that officer is facing a ban:

The Brazilian Ronaldo and others seem to allude to Brazil uniting together because of the injury. It is a cause that could help them.

Conceivably, Colombia should have advanced. That game was ugly with lots of fouls vs. Brazil.
The Spanish ref has been horrible in every match he has officiated.
If Mark Geiger had reffed this match Neymar would still be playing. Geiger does not permit rough play and the players know it, so they adjust; and the matches Geiger refs go very smoothly. The only error in judgment Geiger may have made was giving a yellow rather than a straight red when a sliding tackler pretty much broke the opposing player’s ankle. I suspect Geiger didn’t realize just how dangerous the play was.
Man, we almost made a whole thread without a lecture from a busybody. Thank God you came here in time...
Spanish ref has been bad in every match. If Mark Geiger had been in control of the match, Neymar would not have been injured because Geiger doesn’t tolerate rough play and the players know it.
With both semis involving European and South American teams, do not be surprised if Geiger is selected for one of them unless it has already been decided that he will do the final; which is not likely given the politics involved and the fact that he is an American.
Unless as has been said, the refs were under instruction to go easy on the yellow cards so none of the stars would be out of the final rounds except here it backfired with Neymar’s somewhat freak injury. They had to give the one yellow card to Silva.
Refs that call fouls early on for pushing, grabbing and shoving usually don’t have to deal with the kind of actions that result in many cards later on.
Geiger has called fouls early on in matches and the players responded by not engaging in rough play. I think the players actually like it when rough play is not tolerated; especially the more talented ones. Geiger has gotten great reviews for his management of the matches to which he has been assigned.
Knocked him out of the World Cup for sure. He may have even ended his career. An apology isn’t going to cut it.
Gutsy move by Van Gaal to change goalies for the shoot-out. Maybe this time the Dutch break all the way through.
Operation Orange Payback is brilliant! Two more stages to go.
