House Speaker John Boehner is well-known for being overly-emotional, and for his propensity to break into tears at a moment’s notice.

But…the Speaker ain’t got nothin’ on Ryutaro Nonomura, a 47-year-old Japanese assemblyman who let the dam burst at a press conference last week. Nonomura is accused of spending government money on personal trips.

Yesss. Saw that the other night on a newscast. However, unlike Boehner’s crying jag, the Japanese guy’s appeared fake and contrived. Maybe it was just a cultural misinterp on my part.

No, you are bang on. He’s being treated like a total embarrassment. Nobody is supporting him. If he thought this was going to get him any sympathy he was sadly mistaken.

Those tears are Shakespearean and frightening if real. I also think he’s putting on a performance, one almost hopes it to be an act. True angst like that would get somebody locked up and involuntarily medicated for their own safety. If I hear that this man ‘wishes to meet’ with John Boehner for a public lunch, I will know then.
